Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian Navy is boosting maritime surveillance and security by deepening military cooperation with the French Navy, marked by a bilateral meeting in Paris between Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali and his French counterpart Admiral Nicolas Vaujour on Tuesday.

“The bilateral meeting discussed strengthening cooperation, including joint exercises and the participation of Indonesian naval officers in the Jeanne d'Arc 2026 voyage,” said Navy Head of Public Information Rear Admiral Tunggul in a statement issued on Wednesday (16/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The meeting took place during Admiral Ali’s visit to France for Bastille Day 2025 celebrations.

According to Chief Tunggul, both leaders explored multiple defense collaboration frameworks, including joint training and possible military education exchanges.

He described the discussion as warm and constructive, with mutual interest in enhancing regional maritime defense.
