Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has reiterated that restorative justice for drug offenders will be strictly enforced, applying only to those who qualify for rehabilitation following thorough assessments.

“Restorative justice is reserved for those who pass evaluations and are determined to need rehabilitation,” he explained during a press conference at the INP Headquarters on Thursday (5/12/2024).

Chief Sigit stressed that law enforcement remains vigilant to prevent misuse of the system by offenders seeking to evade prosecution.

“We won’t let this become a loophole for offenders to escape accountability, only to relapse or continue their illegal activities,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Chief Sigit also directed police to adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward repeat offenders and drug traffickers.

“Take firm action against these individuals. I will personally take responsibility,” he added.

Over the past month, from 4 November 2024 to 4 December 2024, the INP reported 382 cases handled through restorative justice, involving 469 offenders.
