Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo monitored security for New Year’s Eve celebrations at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI), Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night (31/12/2024), ensuring public safety during the festivities.

Arriving at 11 pm with officials including INP Head of Traffic Corps Inspector General Aan Suhanan and Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto, he inspected security arrangements and interacted with the crowd.

"Public safety is our top priority, so everyone can celebrate peacefully," said Chief Sigit, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The INP Chief also met President Prabowo Subianto at the site, where the two exchanged greetings and assessed the celebrations.

Earlier, he monitored nationwide New Year’s events via video conference from Jakarta Police Headquarters, checking updates from regions like Yogyakarta, South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, and Maluku.

Chief Sigit noted varying weather conditions, including rain in some areas, but assured that security personnel were deployed to ensure smooth celebrations.

"All officers will remain on standby until the festivities conclude to guarantee safety for everyone," he emphasized.

The Bundaran HI celebrations proceeded peacefully under tight security.
