inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) revealed that the investigation into alleged criminal acts in four nickel mines in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua, is still ongoing.
Confirmation from several parties has also been gathered by the investigators of INP Certain Crimes Directorate.
"As I was told, our investigators have done the confirmation to the parties involved," said the Head of Public Relations of INP, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho on Monday (6/23/2025).
According to him, the investigation team is still conducting an in-depth study regarding the environmental damage caused by the activities of the four nickel mines in Raja Ampat. He ensured that if the investigation process is complete, the results will be immediately announced to the public.
"Hopefully in the not too distant future, information will be collected from the results of the investigation, so that later it can be conveyed clearly and transparently to the public," he explained.
It is known that in the case of nickel mining in Raja Ampat, there are four companies whose mining business permits (IUP) have been revoked. The four companies are also the objects of investigation by the ministry and the police
