Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) strongly condemned House of Representatives (DPR)I legislator Ahmad Dhani’s recent sexist remarks, calling them degrading to women, detrimental to Indonesia’s dignity, and racially insensitive.

"Ahmad Dhani’s statement objectifies women as mere reproductive machines and sexual servants to their husbands," said Komnas Perempuan Chair Andy Yentriyani on Thursday (6/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

She emphasized that such rhetoric contradicts Indonesia’s commitments to gender equality under the 1984 CEDAW ratification and Sustainable Development Goal 5.

Komnas Perempuan urged the House’s Ethics Council to investigate, saying that Dhani’s remarks undermine women’s rights and tarnish the credibility of the House, particularly Commission X, which oversees education.

Dhani’s statement, made during a parliamentary session, suggested that foreign football players over 40 should be naturalized and married to Indonesian women to produce "Indonesian-born" talents. He further implied Muslim players could marry up to four wives.
