inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The 2024 Lilin Operation of the Indonesian National Police (INP), which went from December 21st 2024 to January 2nd 2025, has been successful. The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) appreciates the operation which helps secure the celebration of Christmas and New Year in Indonesia.

The commissioner of Kompolnas, Yusuf, says that the preparation and implementation of 2024 Lilin Operation shows good coordination in various levels of police ranks, from INP down to Sub-regional Police. According to him, the security not only focused on securing the religious holiday, but also on disaster mitigation and traffic management throughout the holiday season.

“Christmas service was going smoothly as the people can celebrate it safely and securely. Moreover, the traffic flow throughout Christmas and New Year was going smoothly, although there was some congestion, it was still under control,” said Yusuf on Friday (1/4/2024).

Operation Lilin is proof that good coordination between the police, local government, and the community can create a safe and conducive atmosphere. Kompolnas hopes that this positive trend can continue to be improved in subsequent operations.

On the other hand, the success of 2024 Lilin Operation is said to be a good reference for the next police security operations, which is the 2025 Ketupat Operation for the security of Eid Al-fitr. Yusuf reminds that people's movement in Eid Al-fitr usually is much higher than Christmas and New Year holiday.
