Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team of East Java Regional Police has identified on Thursday (10/7/2025) three out of four bodies recovered from the capsized ferry KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya, including a Malaysian citizen.
The Malaysian victim was Fauzey Bin Awang (58), identified through medical records and personal belongings, East Java Police Head of Medical Sub-directorate Superintendent Adam Bimantoro said on Thursday night (10/7/2025).
Two other victims identified were Indonesian teenagers Noval Hardiansyah (15) from Banyuwangi, East Java and Sofyan Wibowo (18) from Banjarnegara, Central Java.
One unidentified female body was found at Plengkung Beach, Alas Purwo National Park, wearing blue denim shorts.
As of the ninth day of search and rescue operations, 15 bodies have been found, 30 people survived, and 20 remain missing.
The ferry, carrying 53 passengers, 12 crew, and 22 vehicles, sank in the Bali Strait on 2 July 2025.
