inp.polri.go.id - Bali. Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) member Tutik Kusuma Wardhani assessed that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program presents inclusive regional economic growth as it empowers micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and creates new jobs.
"The MBG program is designed to empower MSMEs and the people's economy," said Tutik in Luwus, Tabanan, Bali, Sunday (6/1/2025) as quoted from Antaranews.
According to her, according to the projection of the National Nutrition Agency, the MBG program in Luwus creates 111 new jobs for local communities.
With a target of more than 30,000 public kitchens or nutritional fulfillment service units (SPPG) throughout Indonesia, it is estimated to create around 1.5 million new jobs, including volunteers, kitchen staff, and security officers.
In this way, the people's representative from Bali assessed that MBG contributed to economic growth in the region.
Furthermore, the National Nutrition Agency collaborates with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen to supply food raw materials to SPPG for the MBG program.
She believes that the national strategic program of the Prabowo-Gibran government can improve people's welfare.
"The MBG program is one of the government's efforts to improve the quality of human resources through strengthening nutrition, especially for school children," said the member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
