inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Agriculture Ministry Andi Amran Sulaiman invites all Village Chiefs in Indonesia to work together in realizing a food self-sufficiency national program by improving local farm products and educating the public about the importance of the program.

“No food, no life. Without food, a country could not exist, thus it is important for us in securing our food,” emphasized Andi on Tuesday (1/14/2025).

Moreover, Andi also highlighted the grand vision of President Prabowo of realizing Indonesia Food Self-Sufficiency which aimed to be realized in 2027.

“The order of the president is for us to realize this goal as quickly as possible, and I am sure we can achieve this if we are working together,” said Andi.

Andi also encouraged the young generations in the village to continue work and innovate and took part in developing the agricultural sector.

“Don’t be shy just because you are from a rural village. We ministers mostly came from the village. I myself came from the east, from a village at the foot of a mountain. We may be born in a village, but our fortune can come from anywhere,” encouraged Andi.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, appreciated the cooperation that had been built with a number of ministries/institutions in the food security program.

"We want to build food security from the village and also create villages that can export their products abroad. Without collaboration, it is impossible to implement it properly," he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Food, Zulkifli Hasan, conveyed good news for farmers regarding the increase in the government purchase price (HPP) for unhusked rice and corn.

He asked regional leaders including village heads and village assistants to oversee the strategic policy so that it is implemented in the field.

"I ask village heads to oversee this so that our food self-sufficiency program can be achieved as soon as possible," he said.
