Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi has urged female job seekers to be extra cautious when engaging with job offers online, following a sexual harassment case involving a fake job vacancy for a sales promotion girl (SPG).

“It is crucial to remain critical, exercise caution when sharing personal data, and avoid trusting unknown parties,” said Minister Arifah in a statement on Wednesday (18/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Her remarks came after a woman, identified as MRP, was lured into applying for a fraudulent SPG job via social media. As part of the fake recruitment process, she was asked to submit a self-introduction and body-checking video wearing tight clothes.

The video was later misused for threats and sexual harassment.

The minister expressed concern over the incident and praised stakeholders for their swift response. She pledged to monitor the case closely and reminded the public to stay vigilant against online gender-based violence and job scams.
