Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. North Sumatra Regional Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the machete attack on a prosecutor and an administrative officer of the Deli Serdang District Prosecutor's Office in Serdang Bedagai.
“The suspects were captured within 10 hours of the incident in separate operations led by the Regional Crime Unit,” said North Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ferry Walantukan on Sunday (25/6/2025).
Suspect APL alias Kempot is believed to be the mastermind, was arrested in Medan on Saturday night, while SD alias Galoa is the alleged executor, was arrested in Binjai early Sunday morning. One other suspect remains at large, according to antaranews.com.
Police confirmed both men are repeat offenders previously convicted of robbery and violent crimes. The motive is under investigation.
According to prosecutors, the victims, prosecutor JWS (53) and administrative officer ASH (25), were ambushed while harvesting palm fruit on private land. One of the victims had earlier attempted to contact Kepot, who is known to be affiliated with a local thug group disguised as mass organization.
