Ombudsman Strictly Monitors SPMB for Smooth and Transparent Service

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. SPMB (New Student Admissions System) is one of the main indicators of the quality of public services in the education sector. The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia stated its readiness to oversee this process so that it runs fairly and transparently, Wednesday (11/6/25).

Member of the Ombudsman RI, Indraza Marzuki Rais, called SPMB a real form of the state's presence in society.

"SPMB is a form of public service, a real form of the state's presence in society," he said, in a press conference for the Joint Forum for Supervision of the New Student Admissions System (SPMB) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

Furthermore, Indraza said that various problems that occurred during the previous SPMB would be the subject of serious evaluation every year. Recurring problems are considered to indicate a weak supervision system and commitment from policy implementers.

He appreciated the presence of a joint cross-institutional forum which was considered to be the beginning of improving the implementation of the national SPMB.

"We hope that this forum is the first step to improving SPMB this year and the years to come," he explained.

The Ombudsman recognizes that the challenges of each region are different and must be managed according to the characteristics of each region. However, the ultimate goal remains the same, namely to ensure that education services fulfill the rights of the community as a whole.
