Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Mount Gede-Pangrango National Park Authority (TNGGP) patrol team removed 2,658 illegal hikers on unofficial access routes during the long weekend.

“This is part of our effort to block unauthorized hikers and ensure all visitors comply with park regulations,” said Agus Deni, the Head of Data and Communications at TNGGP, on Sunday (1/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Offenders were identified and received formal warnings. Many admitted to obtaining permits through unauthorized base camps, which are not recognized by park authorities.

Only registered Hiking Organizers (HO) — such as Gepangku, Kobel Adventure, USSR, dolan.gedepangrango, and mt_gedepangrango — are authorized to facilitate access. TNGGP is working with law enforcement to address violations.

Permits are issued online via barcode. Health certificates and consent forms are required for minors and older climbers. The park enforces a 600-person daily limit to ensure safety and sustainability.
