inp.polri.go.id - Papua. Papua Regional Police have held a Traffic Operation codenamed Operation Lilin Cartenz 2024. The Traffic Directorate of Papua Regional Police and ranks have logged the data comparison of 2023 and 2024 operations.
Inspector General Petrus Patrige Rudolf Renwarin, as the Head of the 2024 Lilin Cartenz Ops says reprimand on traffic violators is decreasing for 3% from 2023 to 2024, from 4,952 to 4,818.
For fatalities in 2023, there were 15 victims, while in 2024 there were 15 victims so there was no increase or decrease. Serious injuries in 2023 were 38 victims and in 2024 there were 46 victims, an increase of 21%.
Meanwhile, for minor injuries report, there is a significant increase of 80.8% from 47 victims in 2023 to 85 victims in 2024.
In addition to causing fatalities, police also compared the traffic accidents material losses, which also showed a significant increase of 87.5% from IDR 219,000,000 in 2023 to IDR 412,300,000 in 2024.
Patrige Renwarin, as the Head of Lilin Cartenz Operation, said that the Comparative Data of 2023-2024 Lilin Cartenz Ops,could raise traffic awareness for the public, especially the road users.
"We hope that this can improve public awareness on traffic safety so that security, safety, order and smooth traffic can be made in Papua Province," explained Patrige.
