inp.polri.go.id - Southeast Sulawesi. Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police has arrested a total of 13 suspects involved in drug criminal cases throughout January 2025 with a total of 1,354.11 grams of crystal methamphetamine as evidence.
The Director of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Senior Superintendent Bambang Sukmo Wibowo said from the disclosure of 13 narcotics cases 12 men and one woman were arrested.
"This disclosure has also succeeded in saving around 135,411 people with the assumption that 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine is usually used by 10 people," he said on Wednesday (1/29/2025).
The state loss due to narcotics crimes is estimated at more than IDR 1.6 billion. This figure was obtained from the calculation if the price of 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine is purchased for IDR 1.2 million.
The arrests of the 13 suspects in the drug case took place at different times. "The roles of the suspects vary, from couriers to dealers across districts and cities," he said.
Bambang stated that the suspects were charged with Article 114 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of the death penalty, life imprisonment, or a minimum imprisonment of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years, and a minimum fine of IDR 1 billion and a maximum of IDR 10 billion.
In addition, the suspects were also charged with Article 112 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of life imprisonment or a minimum imprisonment of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years, and a minimum fine of IDR 800 million and a maximum of IDR 8 billion.
