Inp.polri.go.id - South Tangerang. South Tangerang Sub-regional Police are investigating the suspected suicide of a family of three in Cirendeu, East Ciputat, on Sunday . 

The victims included the father, identified as AF (31), his wife YL (28), and their child AAH (3).

“We have yet to determine the motive behind this tragic incident,” said East Ciputat Police Office Chief Senior Inspector Kemas M.S. Arifin on Monday (16/12/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Investigators have conducted a crime scene examination, forensic analysis, and interviewed witnesses. Preliminary findings suggest financial distress, with the husband allegedly burdened by online loans, better known locally as pinjol, may have been a factor.

The incident was first discovered by YL’s sister, who attempted to access the house but found the doors locked. She entered through an unlocked window and discovered YL and AAH unresponsive in a bedroom. The child was rushed to a nearby clinic but was pronounced dead on arrival.

AF was later found hanging in the kitchen. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details.
