inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. Police ensure that efforts to clear fallen trees that blocked access roads to Brastagi, North Sumatra (Sumut), have been carried out. The evacuation and cleaning were carried out in collaboration with the military.
Previously, the Medan-Brastagi road access, Karo Regency, was cut off due to a fallen tree during heavy rain. The cut off road access resulted in a fairly long queue of vehicles on Jamin Ginting street Km 55-56, Doulu Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency.
"The road is now accessible again after the evacuation process of fallen trees on the Medan-Brastagi road. The cleaning was carried out together with local residents and 03 TB Berastagi Regional Military Command," said Tanah Karo Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Eko Yulianto on Saturday (1/11/2025).
According to Eko, traffic arrangements have also been made, so that long traffic can be immediately dispersed. The road is known to be the main access of Medan-Brastagi, therefore, when the route was cut off due to a fallen tree, officers swiftly cleaned it up.
In conclusion, Eko appeals to the public to remain aware of the extreme weather that is currently happening. Not only falling trees, landslides must also be watched out for.
