Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Following a major power outage in Bali on Friday (2/5/2025), State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that electricity restoration efforts are ongoing and being conducted in stages with a focus on safety and system stability.

“The recovery is still underway gradually, with priority given to maintaining system safety and stability,” he said in an official statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The blackout, caused by a disruption in the undersea cable connecting Java and Bali, triggered shutdowns at all power plants in the Bali grid. Key areas affected included Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan. Strategic facilities such as hospitals and the Ngurah Rai Airport were prioritized during recovery.

State-owned electricity company PLN managed to restore most of the power supply within 45 minutes, with remaining areas being gradually reconnected.

On behalf of the President, State Secretary Prasetyo apologized for the disruption and praised PLN teams for their swift and professional response. The government continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure all public services resume normal operations as quickly as possible.
