Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. President Prabowo Subianto chaired his first limited meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace on Friday (3/1/2024), discussing policies aimed at improving public welfare.
The meeting, lasting over two hours, focused on empowering communities, with significant emphasis on the upcoming free nutritious meal, or Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG), program, set to roll out nationally on 6 January 2026.
Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi confirmed that 1,923 cooperatives, including those involved in eggs, vegetables, rice, and fish, will support MBG.
Meanwhile, Minister of Village Affairs Yandri Susanto announced plans to establish food barns in villages to ensure MBG supply, according to antaranews.com.
Coordinating Minister for People’s Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar highlighted efforts to accelerate community empowerment, focusing on more accurate social assistance distribution, strengthening MSMEs, and expanding low-interest funding for MSMEs and migrant workers.
The meeting also discussed initiatives to train workers and erase debts from 67,000 small businesses.
