"While we uphold press freedom, we must be cautious about false news, hoaxes, hate speech, and efforts to sow division among citizens," he said in a statement released on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on National Press Day 2025, Sunday (9/2/2025).
The President emphasized that journalists play a crucial role in ensuring the public receives accurate and responsible information. To maintain credibility, he urged the media to uphold the principles of Pancasila and remain committed to Indonesia's national interests..
He also warned against media influence by powerful financial interests, stressing the need for journalists to safeguard integrity in an era where information can be manipulated.
