Inp.polri.go.id - Bantul. Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi said on Sunday (15/6/2025) that public notaries in Indonesia are authorized to issue deeds for the establishment of village cooperatives, known locally as Kopdes Merah Putih, as long as the administrative requirements are met.
“I have written to the Minister of Law to ensure that all notaries can issue deeds for Kopdes,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
It means the responsibility no longer rests solely with Notaries Authorized for Cooperative Deeds (NPAK), broadening access and accelerating the formation of community-based cooperatives across Indonesia.
Minister Budi Arie emphasized that regulatory flexibility should be considered if it benefits the people.
“Regulations must not hinder progress. If needed, we must relax certain rules for the sake of the public,” he said.
The Kopdes Merah Putih initiative is part of the government's strategy to empower the rural economy through grassroots cooperative institutions.
