inp.polri.go.id- Jakarta. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has launched the Family Orientation at Mosque’s Site (Foremost) program as a new mosque-based family development strategy.
Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar stated that this program is part of the Ministry's long-term effort to strengthen the role of mosques not only as places of worship but also as centers of family resilience.
"We must reorient mosques as centers for spiritual healing and character building for the community. In that context, the family is the main pillar," said the Minister Nasaruddin in his statement on Wednesday (7/9/2025).
According to him, the current spiritual and social crisis in the society cannot be addressed solely through a sectoral approach. The strategic role of religious institutions, especially mosques, is needed to directly reach families as the core of society.
"Mosques are not just places of prayer; they must become centers for spiritual services, education, counseling, and family development," said the Minister.
The Minister of Religion hopes that every mosque can become a place for spiritual services, a space for spiritual healing, and a place for strengthening the morals of the congregation.
