Inp.polri.go.id – West Sulawesi. West Sulawesi Police Chief, Inspector General Adang Ganjar officially inaugurates school bus for students in the region. He named the bus “Menarang Lantas”. “This is part of Traffic Directorate creative innovation. Hopefully this bus could suppress the traffic accident numbers, particularly on students,” state Adang during the ceremony of 68th Anniversary of Bhayangkara Traffic Unit on Monday (9/25/2023). Adang says that the bus would become the symbol of the importance of students traffic safety. The innovation itself was born of police attention on high rates of traffic accidents in West Sulawesi on 6-16 years old. “This is concerning because those are their golden period in determining and realizing their dreams,” said Adang. Moreover, he assessed that the high numbers of traffic accident is also due to how low the number of public transportation in West Sulawesi, which forced the students to go to school by themselves. “For that, Manarang Lantas is here to prevent traffic accidents while also presents as the solutions for students to not go to school by themselves,” conclude Adang.
