inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police confirmed that there were two ships that caught fire at Pier 20 Marina Ancol, North Jakarta. The ships have also been evacuated by professional divers.
"There is a team of professional divers who are currently trying to evacuate the wreck which has been found at a depth of 2.5 meters," said Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi on Monday (2/10/2025).
According to him, the team from Kepulauan Island Sub-regional Police and National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) are still trying to evacuate the ship as of now. In addition, an in-depth investigation related to the fire that occurred there is still being carried out.
He added that the search for victims, including the captain’s ship, is still being carried out,
"Currently the main focus of the rescue effort is on handling the victims. The victim is still being treated for burns, as the team is also still looking for one ship captain who has not been found," he explained.
