Inp.polri.go.id - Banjarmasin. The South Kalimantan Regional Police's Directorate of Narcotics has achieved a record by seizing 52,561 ecstasy pills in a single operation, marking the largest bust to date.
Senior Superintendent Kelana Jaya, the South Kalimantan Director of Narcotics announced the operation during a press conference on Wednesday (2/10/2024), explaining that the arrest of a suspect, TF (37), a resident of Banjarmasin, led to this significant seizure.
Suspect TF had been under surveillance for his involvement in a high-level drug trafficking network. He was caught on September 5 while riding a motorcycle in Banjarmasin, as reported by antaranews.com.
Authorities discovered the pills packed in three cardboard boxes on the motorcycle. A subsequent search of TF's home revealed additional ecstasy capsules and a small amount of methamphetamine.
Kelana noted that TF was a key player in the Banjarmasin ecstasy trade, sourcing drugs from networks across Northern Kalimantan and Surabaya. Despite challenges in the investigation, the police remain focused on dismantling the drug trafficking network.
