Inp.polri.go.id - East Java. East Java Regional Police has formed a special team to investigate the finding of Building Use Rights Certificate (SHGB) covering an area of 656 hectares in the waters of Sidoarjo, East Java.

The finding has caught the attention of the public as its location is unusual and there is a potential of law violation in the issuance of the certificate.

The East Java Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Farman says the team of Building and Land Assets Sub-directorate has been deployed to carry out further investigation.

Farman adds that this initiative is a direct order from the East Java Regional Police Chief.

"This investigation involves gathering witness statements and location investigation in Sidoarjo," says Farman on Friday (1/24/2025).

The investigation team also coordinated with Village Heads and the locals to gather more information about the certificate.

Moreover, East Java Regional Police is working together with the National Land Agency (BPN) to investigate the SHGB issuance process which is suspected to have been going on for a long time.

He emphasized that the investigation process requires very detailed document tracing and quite a long time.

This investigation step also includes an examination of the possibility of elements of abuse of authority or inappropriate procedures in issuing certificates.

He ensured that his party would thoroughly investigate this case to provide legal certainty to the public.
