The Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Regional Police estimated losses of up to around IDR 28 billion due to the riots on Friday (8/29/2025) and Saturday (8/30/2025) which resulted in damage to a number of public service facilities within the vicinity of the police HQ.
Police are still looking into the mastermind or provocateurs behind the demonstration that turned into riots in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
Vice Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Otto Hasibuan emphasized that State Civil Apparatus (ASN) can maintain neutrality and synergy following the dynamics of the demonstrations that took place at the end of August 2025.
