inp.polri.go.id - Jombang. Authorities from the Jombang-Mojokerto Toll Road and the East Java Regional Police Traffic Unit handled a traffic accident on the Jombang-Mojokerto Toll Road involving a car and a truck, resulting in three deaths.

Head of the Astra Tol Jombang-Mojokerto Operations Department, Zanuar Firmanto, said the accident involved a truck with the police number L 8695 VB. The truck was driven by Doni Oktavianus and a Toyota Innova with the police number L 1303 HD, driven by Imam Dawud.

"There has been an accident on the Jombang-Mojokerto toll road. The truck was loaded with 35 tons of U-Ditch concrete, traveling from Gresik to Kediri at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour, driving in the left lane. Upon arriving at km 704+000 B, it was hit by a Toyota Innova at high speed," he said in Jombang, Friday (6/6/2025).

He said that in the incident, two people died at the scene. One person suffered serious injuries and when arrived at the hospital the medical team declared the patient dead.

The victims who died were Imam Dawud (43), Sumiati (70), and Revadinna (20), all of whom from North Purwodadi, Bubutan District, Surabaya.

In addition, there was also a toddler with the initials S (4) who survived the incident. All victims were taken to the hospital in Jombang for further treatment.

Zanuar says that his party also coordinated with the East Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate for the incident.

He suspects that the incident was because the car driver did not anticipate the movement of the truck in front of them, resulting in an accident.

"The vehicle did not anticipate a moving truck. And because they lacked anticipation, it hit the back of the truck," he said.

In addition to evacuating the victims, authorities also evacuated the vehicles involved in the accident. Currently, all vehicles have been taken to the Jombang Sub-regional Police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the truck driver, Doni Oktavianus, admitted that when the incident occurred, he felt there was a hard impact on the back of his truck. He then stopped and checked the vehicle and it turned out there was a car hitting the back of his truck.

The police appealed to drivers to be more careful on the highway, to prevent accidents.
