Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force are investigating an attack that killed two agarwood collectors in Yahukimo, Mountain Papua, on Saturday evening. The incident, believed to involve sympathizers of an armed criminal group (KKB), remains under investigation. 

“We are verifying who the perpetrators are,” said Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Commander of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, on Monday (1/12/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victims, Sugianto (43) and Hardiyanto (39), were reportedly assaulted at Camp Kampung Bor, Sumo District. According to witness accounts, including a call from a surviving worker, Alias, a group of unidentified assailants entered the camp and attacked using sharp weapons.

Families attempted to flee, but two victims succumbed to their injuries. Their bodies were evacuated by boat to Agats, Asmat, where they lived and operated a small shop. The victims have since been buried in Agats as police continue their investigation.
