Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 200 operational control assistance officers from Troops I of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Corps arrived in South Sumatra and underwent comprehensive briefings and technical training before deploying to fight forest and land fires.

Head of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said that the technical preparation ensured personnel thoroughly understood local terrain dynamics and specialized equipment protocols before moving into active fire zones.

"Upon arrival in South Sumatra, they immediately participated in preparations ranging from operational area briefings to technical training and equipment checks," he said on Saturday (17/10/2026). "This ensures every officer understands their tasks and maintains full readiness."

Arrivals were conducted in stages via Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang and overland routes from Lampung. Following an Operational Area Analysis briefing led by the South Sumatra Police Brimob Commander, officers received hands-on training covering peatland characteristics, water delivery logistics, and specialized firefighting gear operations.

By Friday evening, personnel began moving out to 16 target locations across four high-risk regencies: Ogan Komering Ilir, Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin, and Muara Enim.
