Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Indonesian Military and the Indonesian National Police (INP) have deployed 300 personnel to to oversee the protest by the United Liberation Movement For West Papua (ULMWP) in Jayapura, Papua scheduled for Tuesday (17/10/23).
Chief of the Jayapura Sub-regional Police Senior Superintendent Victor D. Mackbon said that security preparations have also been checked.
"We request that the public not be provoked," he was quoted as saying by Antara on Monday (16/10/23).
Chief Victor assured that the security personnel will ensure the safety of the public to continue their daily activities as usual despite the ULWMP protest.
"This security will be in place at various points that the public should not be disrupted," he added.
