Bali - The Indonesian National Police (INP) and Special Immigration of Bali managed to capture Interpol fugitive Andrew Ayer alias Andrei Kovalenka who had fled from the Special Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai, Bali, on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Public Relations Division of INP, Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono revealed that Andrew Ayer was arrested at Villa Seminyak II, Umalas 1 Street, North Kuta, early this morning. When he was arrested, Andrew did not resist and was immediately taken to the Immigration Office.
"The INP Headquarters Team, the Bali Police Mobile Detective together with the Special Immigration have arrested the Russian Foreign Notice Interpol DPO, Andrew Ayer or Andrei Kovalenka," said Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono in Jakarta, Wednesday (24 / 2/2021).
Apart from Andrew, the joint team also arrested a woman and Andrew's girlfriend, named Ekaterina Trubkina. He was also arrested because he was suspected of being involved in his lover's escape.
Previously, Andrew Ayer fled when he was about to be moved from the Detention Room of the Class I Special Immigration Office of the Ngurah Rai TPI to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center due to the limited detention rooms owned by the Special Class I Immigration Office for TPI Ngurah Rai.
During the administration process for the transfer, the woman in question was visited by her female colleague named Ekaterina Trubkina at around 13:20 WITA.
After being visited by his female colleague, Andrew Ayer alias Andrei Kovalenka carried out a re-examination process by the officers. However, during the examination process, the person concerned sneaked out of the examination room and fled.
