Accelerating Herd Immunity, Central Java Regional Police Held a Simultaneous Candi Merdeka Vaccination, Targets 1,348,000 People

inp.polri.go.id – Semarang.Central Java Regional Police will hold Candi Merdeka Vaccination simultaneously and target 1,348,000 people. Department Police personnel are targeted to innoculate 4,000 people per day. This programme, which would be conducted from August 5 to 17, 2021, is a collaboration between Central Java Regional Police, Central Java Provincial Government, Commando of 4th/Diponegoro Military Region, Covid-19 Task Force, doctors associations, students, academicians, and volunteers targeting 4,000 people per day. Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, really appreciates all stakeholders sharing the common spirit to accelerate the government's target on herd immunity against Covid-19. "This Candi Merdeka Vaccination is the vaccination strategy conducted to celebrate Independence Day on August 17. The target is 4,000 vaccines per day and, on August 17, first vaccination, followed by the second, could be achieved', Chief of Central Java Regional Police said. The two-star general said that the event also targets especially unvaccinated Central Javanese. Chief of Central Java Regional Police hopes that this mass vaccination acceleration strategy could be implemented across all regions in Central Java, mainly in influential agglomeration regions. "We really hope that (this strategy) could rise and expand to other regions out of Central Java. However, I really appreciate Central Java, especially the Central Java Regional Police personnel as the initiator", Chief of Central Java Regional Police said. Furthermore, the Chief of Regional Police mentioned that this vaccination acceleration strategy must reach all walks of life and governmental levels, until Neighbourhood Associations. Therefore, strong solidarity and organising from all stakeholders are needed. "Therefore, on this occasion, I encourage all colleagues to join in this vaccination event. I also welcome it for another place so the government target on herd immunity could be achieved", Chief of Central Java Regional Police said. According to the Chief of Regional Police, achieving vaccination acceleration target would also influence economic growth, considering health is becoming a priority to move the activity and economy forward during the Covid-19 pandemic. "Because those two aspects are inseparable. However, health is the absolute condition to allow all public activities", Chief of Central Java Regional Police said. Besides, the Chief of Regional Police said that most of the regions in this country are still in Level 4 PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement). Therefore, public mobilities and activities are still restricted.
