Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The North Sumatra Police pledges to eradicate drug smuggling in his jurisdiction area. In his effort, the police devised five priority program which one of them has the name of Narkoba Musuh Bersama.
“The follow-up for eradicating the drugs began with simultaneous operation in which Deliserdang Police reports that they are able to uncover drug networks controlled by inmates,” said North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Efendi in open session of the drug case on Wednesday (9/13/2023).
The drug case was uncovered by the arrest of RJ at Ujung Serdang Village, Tanjung Morawa, Deliserdang. Police also confiscate 2 pills of ecstasy from his possession.
The suspect, RJ, admits that he still hid some of the drugs in a rented house at Ekawarni, Medan Johor. With knowledge of the information, police raid the house and confiscate 2 kg of methamphetamine, 4,250 pills of happy fice, 4 sacks of methamphetamine weighing 50.10 gram, 220 pills of ecstasy, 4 handphone, and electric scales.
Police reveals that the drug network was controlled by a kingpin initialed SK who has been sentenced with life imprisonment. Report states that SK obtained the methamphetamine from Tanjungbalai and smuggled it through others including RJ, I, A, and V.
On the other hand, Asahan Police have also arrested boat passengers from Malaysia initialed MU who possessed 2 kg of methamphetamine to be delivered to Madura.
Meanwhile, North Sumatra police join forces with Langkat Police on 13th of September 2023
to arrest R who possessed 4 kg of methamphetamine for Medan.
In a day, North Sumatra Police arrested 45 suspects with seven being drug users and 38 as dealers. Total confiscation of their operation are 4.1 kg of methamphetamine, 56.08 kg of weed, 103 pills of ecstasy, 15 bongs, three digital electric, and IDR 7.7 million in cash.
