The Narcotics Unit of the Bandung City Sub-regional Police confiscated a total of 784,500 illegal hard pills of various types during a raid at a residential property in the Buana Cicalengka Housing Complex, Bandung Regency, which was being used as a storage warehouse for illegal prescription medication. 

Head of the Narcotics Unit at the Bandung Police, Senior Inspector Made Putra Yudistira, said on Thursday (30/7/2026) that the raid resulted from an extended investigation into illegal prescription drug distribution networks operating across Bandung Regency.

"Following this operation, we secured a suspect identified by the initials RJ, originating from Aceh. The suspect allegedly utilized the residential home as both a storage facility and distribution hub for illegal hard drugs," he explained.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the illicit pharmaceuticals were intended for distribution across multiple areas via covert ordering systems and courier services designed to evade law enforcement detection, as reported by antaranews.com.

"The unauthorized distribution of regulated hard drugs constitutes a dangerous criminal act. Beyond breaking the law, the misuse of these pharmaceuticals damages public health, causes addiction, and acts as a trigger for further criminal activity," Chief Made added.

The suspect faces charges under Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health. The offences carry maximum penalties of up to twelve years' imprisonment or fines up to Rp 5 billion.
