inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Food Agency (Bapanas) stated that efforts are being made to distribute rice and cooking oil to 33,244,408 beneficiary families (KPM) before Eid al-Fitr 2026 to maintain purchasing power and stabilize staple food supplies and prices.

"It is guaranteed that it will be distributed before Eid al-Fitr 2026," said Sarwo Edhy, Principal Secretary of Bapanas, on Tuesday (3/3/2026). 

He explained that the food aid budget has been disbursed by the Ministry of Finance, so his party is currently preparing for the technicality and consolidation of beneficiary data.

Sarwo stated that the figure of 33.2 million KPM has been administratively determined, but the government is still conducting field verification to ensure recipients still meet the criteria.

The verification process is necessary as the socioeconomic conditions of recipients can change, so data must be updated to ensure that aid is targeted and avoids inaccurate distribution.

"We'll consolidate the data first. The 33.2 million (beneficiary beneficiaries) are already on the list, but we need to verify it in the field. Are the recipients still poor or have they become rich? Sometimes things change almost immediately," said Sarwo.

Bapanas also issued a letter of assignment to the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) to distribute rice and cooking oil to beneficiaries. The letter was issued in mid-February 2026 as the operational basis for the distribution of national food aid ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

Aid distribution is planned to begin in early March after the data consolidation and verification process is declared ready for implementation in the field.

With this step, Bapanas ensures that all rice and cooking oil aid will be distributed to beneficiaries before Eid 2026, in accordance with the government's target.

The rice and cooking oil food aid program requires a total budget of IDR 11.92 trillion, allocated to 33.2 million recipients across Indonesia. Each recipient will receive 10 kilograms of rice and 2 liters of cooking oil for a one-month allocation.

For the two-month distribution, Bulog will release 664.8 thousand tons of rice and 132.9 thousand kiloliters of cooking oil.
