Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has begun sea operations to find a missing British man swept away at Legian Beach, Badung.
Head of Basarnas Bali I Nyoman Sidakarya said the second-day search deployed a rubber boat from Kelan Beach at 7.15 am on Thursday (25/9/2025), followed by jetskis from Legian. The mission also involves Balawista lifeguards, Water Police, and aerial support from SGI Air Bali.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Harrison Edward Nada Kontounas, was last seen on Wednesday afternoon swimming with two others near a red-flag zone. Despite lifeguard warnings, he was caught by strong currents while the others managed to reach shore.
High winds up to 39 km/h delayed sea operations on the first day, limiting searches to land patrols. Today, Basarnas is scanning 15 square nautical miles at sea, supported by drone surveillance and a Bell 407 GXP helicopter.
As of Thursday evening, the missing tourist has not yet been found.
