inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto asked journalists to be aware of the spread of false news or hoaxes that can divide unity in society so as not to disrupt the true meaning of press freedom.
"Although we uphold press freedom, we must be aware of the spread of false news, hoax news, the spread of hatred, the spread of disunity. We must always be aware of these divisive efforts," said President Prabowo on Monday (2/10/2025).
He also asked journalists in Indonesia to continue to maintain their dynamic way of working in seeking and reporting correct information.
President Prabowo advised journalists to uphold the responsibility of the press in line with the interests of the nation and state.
One thing that journalists can do to maintain the responsibility of the press is to uphold the state philosophy of Pancasila in carrying out their duties.
"I believe that the Indonesian press will ultimately always be loyal to the ideals of the founders of the Indonesian nation. The Indonesian press must be a Pancasila press, a press that is involved in national development, that is committed to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," President Prabowo explained.
