Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia is currently surrounded by three cyclonic systems that could intensify rainfall and sea conditions, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported to President Prabowo Subianto during a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (15/12/2025).
“There are three cyclones encircling Indonesia at the moment, Mr President,” said BMKG Head Teuku Faisal Fathani, referring to Cyclone Bakung, tropical disturbance 93S, and disturbance 95S.
He explained that Cyclone Bakung is located southwest of Lampung and is currently moving away, but its intensity recently rose from Category 1 to Category 2, prompting close monitoring over the next two to three days, according to antaranews.com.
Disturbance 93S is observed around Bali, Nusa Tenggara, and East Java, while 95S is south of Papua. BMKG warned the systems may trigger high to very high rainfall and dangerous waves, while coordination with disaster agencies remains ongoing.
