BNN Chief Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto explained the arrests were part of the integrated “Sapu Bersih Narkotika” operation. Urine tests revealed substances including methamphetamine, THC, amphetamine, and cocaine. One passenger was found carrying 22 grams of suspected ketamine.
“They are categorized as light users or experimental users. The step taken is outpatient rehabilitation at BNN’s IPWL Clinic in Cawang, with mandatory reporting,” he said on Thursday (11/6/ 2026).
The operation followed a 3 June 2026 case where two Russian citizens were caught with 7.8 kg of hashish. Authorities emphasized the effort as part of preparations for International Day Against Drug Abuse 2026, tightening border surveillance.
