"The Indonesian National Police continues to optimize karhutla response by deploying personnel and supporting equipment, including carrying out extinguishing and wetting efforts in areas with remaining fire spots or embers," said Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division, in Jakarta.
He said that wetting operations remain crucial after active flames are controlled to prevent residual embers from reigniting into new hotspots. He also urged local communities to refrain from clearing land using fire to prevent secondary outbreaks across the regency.
