The Cartenz Peace Task Force and the Jayapura City Police succeeded in securing the spokesman for the Papuan People's Petition (PRP), Jefri Wenda in the Perumnas 4 Jayapura area, Tuesday (10/05/22). Head of Cartenz Peace Ops, Commissioner Muhammad Firman said, other than Jefri Wenda, there are also several of his colleagues that were arrested. The arrests were made at around 12:28 WIT. They were immediately taken to the Jayapura City Police for further investigation. "Currently they are all being questioned at the Jayapura City Police Headquarters," said Commissioner Muhammad Firman. Around 1,800 TNI and Polri personnel were mobilized to disperse demonstrations against the new autonomous regions (DOB) and Otsus volume III in the city and regency of Jayapura. Of the that total number of TNI and Polri personnel who were deployed, almost 1,200 of them were put on alert in Jayapura City, while the rest were in Jayapura Regency. Security officers managed to disperse the demonstrators at several points in Heram District and Abepura District, Jayapura.
