inp.polri.go.id – The Central Java Regional Police will soon begin to use drone cameras in their Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system. While in trial, the police will operate five drones.
“The Traffic Corps of the National Police has given their instructions regarding the ETLE system, which use static and mobile cameras. In Central Java itself, there is an ETLE that is connected to drones," said the Director of Traffic of Central Java Police, Commissioner Agus Suryo Nugroho, quoted from ntmcpolri.info, Thursday (27/10/22).
Commissioner Agus Suryo explained that his party also cooperated with drone pilot associations to train their officers. His party is also still looking for the right strategies in using drones for this traffic law enforcement.
“We can operate the drones in any roads, although it depends on the situations. Some roads cannot be watched over by drones. The National Police Traffic Corps also will cooperate with the Association of Indonesian Drone Pilots to teach the police officers in piloting the drones," explained Commissioner Agus Nuryo
He hoped that the new steps in this electronic ticketing will make people more aware with the traffic laws.
“In Central Java, there are many violations that were caught by the ETLE, but as was said by the Director of General Criminal Investigation, we are here not to compete on who have disclosed the case more than the other, but instead we emphasize on making the people not to violate the traffic laws anymore,” he explained.
