inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Central Java Regional Police guarantees the public's safety ahead of the Christmas and New Year 2022 celebrations. However, the public is prohibited from holding fireworks parties because they can cause crowds and the spread of Covid-19.
"There is no need to carry out parties including fireworks and so on," explained Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, after leading the Technical Working Meeting of Traffic Functions and Launching the Go Sigap Application in Semarang, Wednesday (15/12/21).
Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said that the public should not ignore the transmission of the Coronavirus. Although the current number of positive cases has decreased, health protocols must always be applied.
"Even though it has been sloping (Covid-19) in our area, we still have to keep it (don't let it increase again)," said the Chief of Central Java Regional Police.
In a different place, Traffic Director of Central Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Agus Suryo Nugroho, added that approximately 14,000 joint personnel are deployed to secure Christmas and New Year's 2022. They will be deployed in the Lilin Candi Operation, held from December 24, 2021, to January 2, 2022.
"The total number of personnel including related agencies is 14 thousand (people). There are the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Indonesian National Police, Public Health Office, Municipal Police, and community potential," explained Police Grand Commissioner Agus Suryo Nugroho.
