Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Wang Qing called on Indonesia and China to stand together in upholding international law and the multilateral system during a dialogue with media and think tanks in Jakarta on Thursday (26/3/2026).
"We must strengthen our cooperation at the multilateral level to demonstrate how we uphold United Nations principles and protect international law," he said , highlighting the need for a unified front amidst waning global confidence in multilateralism.
Ambassador Wang said that both nations should collaborate on UN-led initiatives, specifically the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He pointed to Indonesia’s rising influence as a member of ASEAN, the G20, and BRICS, as well as its historic legacy as the architect of the 1955 Bandung Conference.
China maintains that the "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence", which centered on sovereignty and equality, remain the essential foundation for a stable international order.
