inp.polri.go.id - North Kalimantan. The North Kalimantan Regional Police and the Bulungan Sub-regional City Police continue to strengthen law enforcement in forest and land fire  cases, both involving individuals and corporations. This step demonstrates police's commitment to preventing forest and land fires and preserving nature in North Kalimantan.

In handling the wildfire, investigators have named three suspects suspected of individually burning the land. The suspect identification is part of the police's efforts to take firm action against any actions that cause forest and land fires.

Meanwhile, the handling of wildfire cases involving corporations by the North Kalimantan Police has now entered the investigation stage. Investigators are continuing to complete case files and question the relevant parties. Once all the examination and administrative requirements have been met, the case files will soon be sent to the prosecutor's office for further legal proceedings.

As a demonstration of its commitment to handling forest and land fires, the North Kalimantan Regional Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate also held a press release on forest and land fire law enforcement, led by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the North Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dadan Wahyudi, on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

The conference was organized by the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency and led by the Chief of Criminal Investigation, Commissioner General Asep Safrudin, and attended by 14 other regional police departments affected by the forest and land fires.

The conference demonstrates the shared approach of the police in handling wildfire crimes, and demonstrates that law enforcement against perpetrators of forest and land fires is a serious concern at both the national and regional levels.

Dadan emphasized that the North Kalimantan Regional Police are committed to handling every forest and land fire case professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable laws, regardless of the background of the perpetrators, whether individuals or corporations.

"Law enforcement against forest and land fire crimes is a firm commitment of the North Kalimantan Regional Police. We will not give any party the opportunity to deliberately burn forests and land, resulting in impacts on the environment and communities. We will handle every case professionally based on evidence and applicable laws, including allegations of corporate involvement," he asserted.

He also emphasized that handling forest and land fires is not only oriented towards taking action after a fire occurs, but must also be accompanied by preventative measures and increasing public and business awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.
