Djamari made this statement while attending the destruction of 1.3 tons of ketamine evidence from a foiled maritime smuggling attempt at the Batam IV Naval Regional Command Headquarters, Riau Islands, on Wednesday (8/12/2026).

"This sends a message to all parties that Indonesia will not and never become a transit point, storage point, or market for transnational crime," he said.

Djamari stated that Indonesia has extensive entry points, so monitoring of smuggling routes needs to be continuously strengthened, especially in border areas such as the Riau Islands.

"We understand that the entry points for illegal goods into Indonesia are vast. What has been uncovered is only one route. Therefore, we must be vigilant," he said.

According to him, the success of the disclosure is not only measured by the quantity of evidence confiscated, but also by the authorities' ability to detect and dismantle the international smuggling network.

"What I want to emphasize is that this disclosure is not just about the amount of evidence confiscated. What's far more important is our ability to detect, stop, and dismantle international networks smuggling illegal goods," he said.
