"In total, nine people are arrested in North Sumatra", the Chief of General Information Agency of PR Division of National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, said on Friday (17/12/21). Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan explained that the arrest of nine suspected terrorists was conducted on Thursday (16/12/2021), which started at 08.00. They were captured in two different areas. "Seven people were caught in Medan, such as Langmat, Binjai, Belawan, and West Medan. Two other people are arrested in Tanjung Balai", the Middle Officer of the PR Division of National Police said. Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan cannot explain those nine people's involvement in terrorist acts or which terrorist group they are affiliated. Chief of General Information Agency of PR Division of National Police said that they are sent to North Sumatra Regional Police for further investigations. "We have not confirmed the network. All targets are detained in North Sumatra Regional Police", Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan concluded.
