inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that repairs to all damaged schools must be completed within two years at the latest.

"Next year, we hope to reach 100,000, so that within the next two years, at the latest, all our schools are repaired," Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/12/2026).

Prasetyo said the government continues to accelerate the repair of damaged schools in various regions across the country. He explained that the government initially allocated a repair program for around 17,000 schools in 2026.

However, after receiving reports and data on school conditions, President Prabowo Subianto instructed that the scope of repairs be expanded.

The government then added approximately 60,000 schools to be repaired or renovated this year. With this addition, the number of schools handled by 2026 is estimated to approach 80,000.

According to Prasetyo, this acceleration was made possible through an evaluation of budget usage during the current year.

The government, he said, is combing through budgets deemed less productive and reallocating them to programs with greater impact.

"That's why we were able to add more school repairs from 17,000 to 60,000," he said.

He explained that this budget adjustment pattern is one way the government responds to needs identified on the ground.

This way, previously established programs can still be expanded if more pressing needs arise.

"This is also a result of our continued success in combing through budgets deemed less productive and reallocating them to programs with a much greater impact," he said.
