Inp.polri.go.id - Wamena. The Damai Cartenz Task Force transferred Natan Matuan, a member of an armed criminal group (KKB), to the Wamena Prosecutors’ Office on Thursday (26/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The suspect, linked to multiple acts of violence in Yahukimo Regency, was flown to Wamena under heavy guard after prosecutors declared his case file complete.
"The enforcement of law against armed criminal groups represents the state's presence in ensuring public safety, conducted firmly and accountably within legal frameworks," said Damai CartenzTask Force Head Brigadier General Faizal Ramadani, as cited by antaranews.com.
Matuan faces charges under the 1951 Emergency Law on the illegal possession of weapons following an incident in Dekai District last December. While the primary case has moved to the prosecution stage, investigators are still probing Matuan’s potential links to broader separatist networks.
Brigadier General Faizal said that the task force remains committed to neutralizing threats against national sovereignty and maintaining public order in Papua through decisive, measured action.
